| Roxy in Egypt at WADI Sports Camp teaching the local kids how to play tennis. Roseann Potter's Bio I grew up in North County San Diego, went to Tri-City Christian School from pre-school to 8th grade. I asked Jesus into my heart in 5th grade. I went to Carlsbad High all four years and played on the tennis team at #1 singles.
I received a scholarship to play tennis at Cal State Fullerton where I majored in Kinesiology. After college, I played the Professional WTA Tour and made it up to #820 in the world in singles.
In 1996, I began my teaching career at StoneRidge Country Club and taught for three years and then took over as the Director of Tennis. Within that time, I re-dedicated my life to Christ! And found FCA too!! I was excited to receive the role as head clinician for the girls' tennis camp in 2001 and for the next two Summers. After that, I responded to God as He called me into the FCA ministry. I picked up and left my job and worked on my fund-raising for a year and a half while I taught at El Camino County Club in Oceanside. I was able to join the staff in February of 2004. I served as the East Co. Representative for three and a half years and experienced the challenge of starting huddles. Went from one huddle to six! Praise the Lord!
I am currently the South Bay San Diego and have been blessed to serve God and watch Him open the doors to many high schools. We started with Castle Park H.S. and now are in process of having six certified campuses! Working with young Christian athletes is such a privilege and to see young people turn to Jesus in this dark world is exciting!
I have been married to Travis Potter since August 5th, 2006 and we are enjoying doing ministry together. He served as an assistant Surf Clinician in 2007 and is excited about "Get Focused" in 2008. We are also planning to travel to Egypt this Summer through Kids Games, an international sports ministry. I will teach tennis and he will teach soccer, basketball or skateboarding.
My life verse is Romans 12:1- "Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is your reasonable act of worship." | |
